Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

East Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and East Rochester follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I cannot speak highly enough about Leo's Bakery & Deli β they are truly one of a kind! After finding out rather last minute about an event we were hosting, I decided we absolutely needed homemade, custom sugar cookies. After calling more than ten bakeries around Rochester, I was met with the same answer everywhere β the turnaround was simply too tight. I was starting to lose hope. Then, thanks to a wonderful recommendation from a good friend, I called Leo's. Without hesitation, they said yes. Fifty custom iced and frosted sugar cookies, tight deadline, no problem. I was overjoyed. And the cookies? Outstanding. Fresh, beautifully decorated, and baked to absolute perfection. Every single guest at our event commented on them. Leo's came through for us when we needed them most β and that kind of reliability, warmth, and quality is rare. They have earned a customer for life. THANK YOU, Leo's! πͺβββββ

Had a custom order of cake and cupcakes for my baby shower and they exceeded our expectations! Highly recommend! Absolutely delicious and you can really tell the love and effort put into everything. We ordered succulent themed cupcakes and a blueberry lemon cake.

Not only is it is best bakery in the city, it's also home to what I think is the best lunch in Rochester. My go to is the roast beef panini on an herb focaccia panini with caramelized onions and roasted red peppers, with a side of the Italian wedding soup, chips, a blueberry white tea Arizona, and an elephant ear for dessert. Everything fresh and made in house. $25 for this lunch. Best quality to price in the city.

Big bakery with lots of options but a bit high price. I came here Saturday morning and it wasnβt too busy. The store is big and sells variety of bakery items: cake, cookie, pastry, pre-made food, ice cream, milk etc. Their price is definitely on higher side, regular cake is $22, a bit more flavor cake is $30 etc. I got some puff and zeppoli and they are pretty ok. The parking lot is small and with all snow around, there was barely space to back up car and avoid other cars to leave. Also the check-out line needs a better attention. There was no sign on where we should form the line, so people just stand randomly and cut each other off when go to check-out.

We were immediately impressed with the bakery items that they have when you first walk in. Everything looks so fresh and the store is very inviting. We decided to eat in their cafe and it was a mistake. We ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich and meatball sandwich. We also ordered chili. The chili was pretty good. The bread for the sandwiches was too overly crunchy, and there was too much sauce covering up the overcooked chicken and meatballs. The tables in the dining room were wobbly and the room was a mess; crumbs all over the seats and tables. One of the workers behind the register was sneezing and dazing off into the air not paying attention to customers. Again, the bakery is great but skip the cafe!
